State-of-the-art area monitoring – the Dräger X-zone 5000, in combination with the Dräger X-am 5000 or X-am 5600 gas detection instruments and it can be used for the measurement of up to six gases. This easily transportable, robust and water-proof unit extends mobile gas detection technology to a unique system with many applications.
Innovative area monitoring - The Dräger X-zone 5000 transforms the Dräger personal gas detection instruments X-am 5000/5600 into innovative area monitoring devices for a wide range of applications. A patented combination for increased safety – in addition to the personal air monitors carried on the body, these area monitors are positioned where gas hazards are expected.
Clear warning - Even from a distance, the illuminated green LED ring indicates that the air is free of toxic and combustible gases. Upon detection of gas hazards, the LED color changes from green to red, thus providing a clear visual warning that gas is present. Additionally, a loud and highly audible evacuation alarm is emitted. The Dräger X-zone 5000 gas entry is arranged that the gas can diffuse into the Dräger X-am 5000/5600 from all sides.
Wireless fenceline - Up to 25 Dräger X-zone 5000 can be automatically interconnected to form a wireless fenceline. This interconnection of the area monitoring devices allows for the fast securing of larger areas, e.g. pipelines or industrial tanks – even within the scope of industrial shutdowns. In the event of a gas alarm, the Dräger X-zone 5000 transmits the alarm signal to all units that are part of the fenceline which then signal a daughter alarm. The daughter alarm is, in contrast to the red master alarm, displayed green/red by the illuminated LED ring, providing a fast and easy recognition of the alarm and the alarm-triggering area monitoring device. This promotes an easy and clear evacuation. Alternatively, the fenceline can be wired.
Area monitoring – even with a pump - An optional integrated pump allows for continuous monitoring of areas during pump operation. This provides continuous monitoring of confi ned spaces and locations which are difficult to access – from a distance of up to 45 m (150 ft).
Alarm contact to connect to external equipment - Via the potential-free alarm contact, the Dräger X-zone 5000 device can be interconnected and operate external equipment such as alarm horns, lamps or traffic lights. In addition, the fenceline signal, together with the alarm contact, can be forwarded to a control room – overseeing a wide range of applications.
Available for use in ex zone 0 - Unlike personal gas detectors, area monitoring devices often stay located well within an explosion hazard area, even during a gas alarm. Therefore, it is important that the devices are approved for use in explosion hazard areas or zone 0. The approvals for X-zone 5000 enable the continuous operation of the device in an explosive atmosphere and environment.
Continuous operation for up to 120 hours - Two different types of rechargeable batteries enable the Dräger X-zone 5000 to be adapted to a variety of applications: the 12 Ah battery, with a total weight of only 7 kg (15 lbs.), offers continuous operation for up to 60 hours; and the alternative 24 Ah battery, with a total weight of 10 kg (22 lbs.) provides up to 120 hours of continuous operation – a complete working week.
Inductive charging technology - The Dräger X-zone 5000 can be charged in two ways: in the conventional wired manner or via a modern induction charger. For this purpose, the device is simply placed into the charger – thus alleviating the problems encountered with dirty charging contacts, etc.
Easy maintance - With the Dräger X-Zone 5000, Daily bump tests and calibrations of the integrated Dräger X-am 5000/5600 are no longer necessary. Only one-time testing on site is now necessary for continuous operation. Alternatively you can offer our Dräger BumpTest Station or the workshop solution

Configurable to meet individual requirements - With the Dräger CC-Vision PC software, the Dräger X-zone 5000 can be configured to meet individual needs and requirements. Using this, the alarm frequency can also be modifi ed so that the alarms are adapted to different industrial background noises.
