Setting up an account to buy safety supplies

Can I set up an open account so that I my company can use Purchase Orders?

We would be glad to set you up and process your orders using Purchase order numbers.

There is a simple credit application that you will need to fill out which we can fax to you and have you fax back to us for approval.

How do I set up an account?

Simply shop for whatever you need. When you are ready to check out, we will ask you for an address where you want the items to ship to as well as the address that is associated with the credit card you use as well as any other pertinent information.

Once you have filled out this information, you will be assigned a log-in ID and password.

Please remember your password as you will need it to log-in next time you visit our site to place an order.

Special Pricing of Safety Supplies and PPE

Can I get special pricing for several locations? Can I get a corporate contract?

National Safety, Inc. can save you quite a bit of money through standardization (so that all of your locations are using the same supplies, thus cutting the cost of inventory, shipping from multiple locations, only stocking replacement parts for the items you stock, etc...) as well as consolidate your purchases for various locations under one "buying umbrella" in order to get you the best discounts.

Using the Site

How do I shop?

Shopping is extremely simple on our site and follows the standard used on most shopping cart site on the web. 

Simply browse through the items and click on the "add to cart" notice next to each item that you wish to purchase.

That item is then put into your shopping cart. You can view your shopping cart by clicking on the "Shopping cart" with the icon next to it at the top or by clicking on the "View Your Cart" button under the menu on the left.

You can also see what's in your cart without leaving the present window by simply clicking on the "view details" button right above the "View Your Cart" button under the menu.

Once you have all the items you wish, simply go to your shopping cart and type in the quantities for each item. From there, you simply follow the onscreen information.

How do I find what I'm looking for?

There are several ways to find what you are looking for on our site:

  1. You can just go into the categories on the left. Whenever you click on one of the categories, there is usually a sub-menu that drops down (For example, if you are looking for safety glasses, you would click on "Eye Protection", then on the sub-menu, you would click on "Safety Glasses". You will then be able to browse through all the safety glasses we carry.
  2. You could also use the search engine which is located right below our logo on the top left of your browser window. Simply type in the item that you are looking for and click on the "search" button. You should get a list of all the items that we carry that match you search description. Simply click on the one(s) you wish to view.
  3. You can also use the "Shop by manufacturer" menu which you will usually find listed in the browser window when you click on a selection from the menu on the left (if we stay with the example of safety glasses, when you click on "Eye Protection" you will find that there are 16 different manufacturers listed. By simply clickin on one of these, you will pull up a list of items by that manufacturer only, directly relating only to the category you are in). Sometimes, you can find these under the sub-menu selections as well (in this case, if you click on "Safety Glasses", you will find that you have 8 manufacturers to choose from. By clicking on one of these, you will pull up only safety glasses and nothing else, because you are in the "safety glasses" category, by that particular manufacturer.

How do I order on your site?

We have tried to make our site as user friendly as possible.

You can use our shopping cart system by simply clicking on the "Add to Cart" once you have found the item that you want. Once the item has been added, you can continue to shop or you can check out. 

You can view the contents of your shopping cart at any time by clicking on the "View details" button at the bottom of the menu on the left hand side of the screen or by clicking on the "View Your Cart" icon, just below that.

Once you have finished shopping, simply click either on the "Shopping cart" on the top bar or by clicking on the "View Your Cart" icon at the bottom of the menu on the left.

From there, you can enter quantities, continue shopping, empty the cart, remove items one at a time or checkout.  From there, just fill out the necessary information and follow the directions.

Ordering

Can I pay using a Purchase Order instead of a credit card?

If you are already an existing National Safety, Inc. customer. Please call us at 1-800-213-7092 or email us at webmaster@nationalsafetyinc.com and let us know that you wish to be set up to purchase using a PO instead of a credit card.

We will be glad to make that happen for you.

We will set you up and let you know when you are set to order (usually it is within 24 hours or less).

How do I know that you received my order?

You will receive an email from us letting you know...

  1. That your account was set up (one-time only). This happens when you login and set up an account with National Safety.
  2. When your order is submitted, letting you know that we received it. This happens every time you place an order.
  3. When your order has shipped.

Do I need to fax or mail you a confirmation order?

We do not need to receive a conformation order. You will know that your order was received via email.

We do understand that some companies have policies requiring that you fax or mail a confirming order. If you need to do so, we simply ask that you make it clear on the order that it is a confirmation order so that we do not duplicate the order.

Will my email address get shared with any other company?

No! We respect your privacy. We will not share, sell or distribute any information about you with any other company. Your privacy and trust are important to us and we do not share them with anyone.

Why do you need my email address?

We use your email address to let you know that we received your order as well as to notify you when it ships.

How do I get a login ID?

When you have finished shopping, you will need to provide us with the information necessary to ship and pay for the items. At that time, we will ask to choose a password and your email address.

Your email address and the password you choose will be used to pull up your account next time you visit our site.

What are my payment options?

You can pay for your products in a variety of ways:

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express and well as procurement cards.
  • Account that have established credit may also opt to pay COD.
  • For accounts that have set up an account with us, we will bill you.

What about tax?

By law, we charge tax on all items shipped within the state of Washington and New York. All other states are not charged tax.

What's the minimum order?

You can get a copy of our new cataolg by calling our customer service people at 800.213.7092 between 7:00am and 5:00pm (PST) Monday through Friday or by clicking on the "Free Supplies Catalog" at the top of the homepage.

Do you have a catalog?

Yes, we have a brand new 2011 catalog with over 8,000 items. We would be glad to send it to you upon request. Simply click on the "Free Supplies Catalog" at the top of the main page.

Is ordering online safe?

That all depends on wether or not the site that you are ordering from is secure or not. 

You should never order online from a non-secure site. Credit Card information should be encrypted and firewalls should be in place. 

Here at nationalsafetyinc.com we use VeriSign to ensure your security. We also use a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and a multi-tiered infrastructure to make sure that your shopping experience is safe, secure and trouble-free.

Shipping

Do you ship outside of the US?

No, at this time, because of import taxes and customs paperwork, we only ship within the 50 states and APOs.

Why are the freight charges so high?

Freight charges are calculated automatically by the UPS computer based on weight, dimensions and the zip code where the item(s) are being shipped to.

Our website links to the UPS computer and pulls back those charges. We do not add a charge to the total the UPS computer gives us (aside from the S/H fee which is a separate line item and a fixed, flat fee). The total freight charge that you see on your order comes directly from the carrier.

Unfortunately, with the increase in gas prices, shipping costs have gone up with all carriers.
 
How soon will I get my order?
Unless otherwise specified by you, all orders will ship FedEx ground. Most orders will ship the day after we receive the order. If the item cannot ship in this time frame (backorders, dropships, etc...) we will notify you and let you know when you can expect to get your items.
Depending on where you live, the estimated time of arrival may vary. We are located in WA state. Below is an ETA map from FedEx to help you figure out when you can expect to receive your order:
